Beginner · One evening

Another room

The same thing somewhere else, and it is rarely only the place that changes.

Why it works

The bedroom is full of habits and the body recognises them. Another room gives no clue about what usually happens next, so what the two of you actually do is easier to notice. It does not have to be exciting. It is enough that it is unfamiliar.

How to do it

  • 01

Pick a room in the house where you never have. The kitchen counts.

  • 02

Set the room up first: light, a blanket, a door that closes.

  • 03

Stay there. The pull towards the bedroom is part of it.

What usually goes wrong

Two things pull you back to the bedroom: the floor is hard and the door is open. Put down a blanket and close the door before you start. Then comes the temptation to move halfway through. Agree in advance that you stay, or it is an ordinary evening with a detour.

Look after each other

Check that nobody else can walk in. Feeling safe is a precondition, not a detail.
