Week 37

Recipe of the week

A new one every Monday. Short, concrete, and for two. Keep the page — it says something else next week.

A couple sit talking over a table with a teapot and two cups.
Medium · One hour

The blindfold hour

One of you sees nothing for an hour and does not have to guess what is coming.

How to do it

  • 01

Use a scarf, not a hand. Set out three things beforehand — something cold, something soft, something with a smell — within reach of the bed.

  • 02

Do not say what you are doing, and do not say what comes next. The wait between two things can be longer than it usually is.

  • 03

Take the blindfold off while you are both still lying down, and let the other adjust to the light before anybody talks.

Look after each other

Without sight, the sense of time is the first thing to go. Say out loud every quarter of an hour how long it has been — or agree that the blindfold comes off if it is asked about twice.

Every recipe

  • Beginner · Two hours

    The long evening

An evening with nowhere to get to — bed included.

  • Beginner · Twenty minutes

    Say it out loud

Three sentences, said aloud, that otherwise never get said.

  • Beginner · One week

    Who starts

A week where it is settled who brings it up — and it is not whoever usually does.

  • Beginner · One evening

    Another room

The same thing somewhere else — and it is rarely only the place that changes.

  • Medium · One hour

    The long tease

Everything that usually goes quickly, done at half the speed.

  • Medium · Half an hour

    The agreement first

The half hour that makes the rest possible.

    The third name

You talk about a third person. Nothing happens.

  • Advanced · Two hours, and fifteen minutes a month

    Written down

    The first scene

A short scene with everything around it in place.

  • Kinky · One evening

    One exact thing

You take one particular thing and do it properly, instead of five things halfway.

    What it costs

Not a scene. The way to find out what a thing takes before you do it.

  • Beginner · Thirty minutes

    Show me with your hand

You stop guessing. One of you shows, the other watches.

  • Beginner · One working day

    Three messages before six

The evening starts at eleven in the morning.

  • Beginner · Ten minutes

    Eyes open

    The wrong hour

The same thing, at an hour when you would otherwise be doing something else.

  • Beginner · Twenty minutes, and a week

    The good no

You settle what a no sounds like, so that saying one costs nothing.

  • Medium · Forty minutes

    Watched

One of you touches yourself. The other may look, and not touch.

    Said while it happens

One of you says out loud what is happening, and what happens next.

    Borrowed clothes

You spend the evening in each other’s clothes, and you stay in them.

  • Advanced · Two evenings and three months

    The trial period

An open arrangement with an end date — not a door simply left ajar.

  • Advanced · Two evenings, a week apart

    The joy and the jealousy

You find out where the jealousy sits while nothing has happened yet.

  • Advanced · One evening, and a conversation the day before

    Out among others

You go to one place where other people are part of it, and you touch nobody the first time.

  • BDSM · One hour, twenty minutes of which is rope

    One tie

One tie, learned properly, instead of five you saw in a photograph.

  • BDSM · Forty minutes

    The warm-up

Blows that start far too light and end up in the right place — in that order.

  • BDSM · One weekend

    Three rules and a name

A role with a clock time at each end and exactly three rules in between.

  • BDSM · Three quarters of an hour

    Wax and ice

Two temperatures on the same skin, and one of you never knows which is coming.

  • BDSM · Twenty minutes now, and fifteen after every scene

    The day after

An aftercare written down once, so nobody has to invent it afterwards.

    Two strangers

You meet as two people who have never seen each other before, and neither of you breaks it.

  • Kinky · A week to find it, one evening to wear it

    One good garment

One thing bought on purpose for one person, instead of a drawer full of things nobody chose.

  • Kinky · Half an hour

    From the chair

One of you does what people do on their own, and the other only watches.

  • Kinky · Twenty minutes, then one evening

    The exact words

You find out which words work and which ones kill it, before anybody says them in the dark.

    The hours after

Not a scene. The part that comes afterwards, arranged before it begins.

    The conversation about the throat

Not a how-to. A way of talking about the one item on the list that kills people.

  • Hardcore · Twenty minutes, before anything that holds

    The way out

Before you tie anything, you find out how fast you can get it off again.

  • Hardcore · Three hours, with the clock in the room

    The long scene

One scene long enough that its middle is the point, built so that it can be stopped.

  • Hardcore · Two weeks of talking, and one evening at the end of it

    More than two

The part of a third person that happens before anybody is invited.
