The wrong hour
The same thing, at an hour when you would otherwise be doing something else.
Why it works
Sex on a Tuesday morning is not better than sex on a Saturday night. It is simply unexpected, and the unexpected goes further than people think. An hour you never use carries no habits either, so neither of you quite knows how it is supposed to go.
How to do it
- 01
Find the hour of the week when you never do it, a Saturday morning, a Tuesday at seven in the evening, and set aside forty minutes there.
- 02
Change nothing else. The bed can stay unmade and the dishes can stand.
- 03
Get up afterwards and finish the day. That is half the point.
What usually goes wrong
The tidying. Somebody starts making the bed or doing the dishes first, and forty minutes are gone. Leave it. The other trap is a time when somebody has to be somewhere afterwards. A quarter of an hour of watching the clock costs more than the whole hour gives.
Pick an hour when nobody rings the doorbell and nobody has to be collected. A quarter of an hour of worrying whether you have time costs more than the hour gives.
